#66 Winter Light

Every year around Christmas – when it doesn’t get any darker outside – Linköping is lit up by the Winter Light exibition. Winter Light is a number of installations around the city, with ”light” as a theme. I must say that I am not generally that impressed by the installations, but it can be fun to watch. This year, however, one of the installations caught my eye.

The installation – made by school children from Linköping, under direction of the artist Mika Liffner – is called ”Skärmtid” – which is Swedish for ”Screen Time”. The screens are made of recycled material and symbolize how we can jointly build a more sustainable future – the description reads.

I found the installation gave me an almost Harry Potter-like feeling, as I saw it on an Instagram post from a friend. I just had to photograph it. The colors from in the small yard are beautiful and so is the small yard in it self.

The installation is of course intended to be seen in the dark, but I liked it in the daylight as well. It is always fun when a new photo oppurtunity appears in your home town. It can be hard to find inspiration in a place you spend your life in, almost every day.
