#215 Citylife in BNW

I am in one of my Black and White periods at the moment. In a city like Stockholm it can be tempting to shoot color photos. Aspecially around christmas when the whole city is lit up. But I had decided to have my camera set to black and white jpg:s, to get in the right mode.

If you follow this blog you may know that I bought a Leica MD262 a while ago. This is a digital camera without a LCD-display. I had wanted this camera for a while, to get as close to analogue photography as possible. It was a great camera in many ways, but I ended up selling it and returned to a Leica with a LCD-screen again. One of the reasons for this was that it only shot RAW images. If you shoot RAW images you always get color images (if you don’t have a Monochrome camera). My problem was that I had a hard time getting in the ”black and white mode” when I knew that I always got the full color image. You have to be forced to think in gray scale when you shoot black and white…

Christmas is around the corner and many windows have nice christmas decorations. Even the most boring corners can become a little nicer when christmas is on the way…

Stockholm in the afternoon, just after sunset. People on their way home after school and work. I headed for a hotel for the night.
