#243 What is the problem?

After I wrote my last post I realized that it may sound strange to some that I had to ”learn the new lens”. You could argue that it would be obvious in the finder, that an aperture should be set in another way to get a sharp picture.

The thing is that this is a lens for my Leica M rangefinder camera. In a rangefinder camera you dont look through the lens – you look through the rangefinder. That means that you have to learn the caracteristics of each lens at a specific aperture.

If you look at the picture above (Stockholm) you see a picture shot with the aperture set to [about] f5.6. The picture below was shot with [about] f1.2. Do you see the difference?
