The other day I was driving through a beautiful Swedish autumn scenery. The mist was hanging in the tree tops and the wind was almost none. I was on my way to a work appointment, but I just had to stop and shoot some pictures.
The place I was going to visit happened to be a couple of kilometers straight in to the woods. I drove on small roads (making my car really dirty…) and suddenly the landscape opened up and a small lake apperaed. As I stopped and got out of the car I was amazed – the wind was totally calm and there was not a sound. Totally quiet. Except the sound of a Leica shutter…
I usually don’t change the pictures that much in Lightroom – but this time I felt like making them a little more “artistic”. I wanted to make them express what I felt at that precise moment even more and this is how I ended up.
I jumped back in to the car and drove on. The yellow tree just stood there and was like it was on fire. I had to stop again. A couple of hours later – as I drove back – the mist was almost gone and the “dream like” feeling was gone. The sun was almost shining through – which also is stunningly beautiful with the autumn colors. But at that time I had no time to stop and shoot – had to rush to the next job meeting…
